Mayfair Lane welcomes Duke’s Vineyard on Saturday 29 April for an indulgent evening hosted by Foni Pollitt and winemaker Ben Cane. The magnums will be flowing at Duke’s Dinner as we explore a range of expressions, matched with a menu by Head Chef Joe Rutherford.
An award-winning vineyard in the cool-climate Porongurup subregion of the Great Southern, Duke’s Vineyard sits at the western feet of Porongurup’s ancient granite peaks, influencing everything from the climate to the sandy soils.
Duke Ranson began planting vines in 1999 on his 60th birthday. In 2019 he received the James Halliday Wine of the Year Award for his 2017 Riesling, with a score of 99 points. A first for any Riesling.
Winemaker Ben Cane and his partner, Sarah Date, took over the property and brand in April 2022 when Duke retired at 82. They are guiding the existing premium wines to exciting new heights and are looking to add new varieties to the portfolio by way of invitational WA vineyards.
